What is an effective way to burn movies downloaded from the internet to
DVD?Every time I try With Nero or Media Player I get an error message,
usually "Unknown Error." Also on the back of my DVDs list " SP, LP. & EP "
recording time options to record a program which is more than 2 hrs., however
I cannot find where to put in this option when trying to record a program
longer than 2 hrs. Thank You for your help.

The "2, 4, 6 hr. recording" is generally for standalone DVD recorders, and
they get those different amounts by varying the resolution and compression
quality. It doesn't really apply to video DVDs burned in a regular computer.
If you're getting an error with Media Player and Nero, then maybe you need
to try a different brand of media...some drives are rather sensitive...

Media Center doesn't have a good way of dealing with large
recordings...sometimes (but not always) it will offer to lower the quality
but that doesn't always work.

A lot of times, when burning downloaded movies on to DVD, if it is say DIVX
or something to that extent, your software may not have the proper codec for
it. IN XP, I had Nero 7 Ultra, and it wouldn't load the movies to DVD unitl I
got the DIVX codec for it installed to Nero.
SP is Standard Play
LP is long play
EP is extended play

Depending on how long your movie is, how much compression is needed.
