Please log in for more thread options This is a standard capability of the OS unless you have turned off Disk
Caching on your system.
Whenever a file is written to disk it is not removed from main memory until
the OS needs memory for some other program or data and then it reuses the
memory that has not been used for the longest amount of time. So the more
system memory you have the larger the effective disk cache.
