Having recently upgraded my desktop to Vista Ultimate from XP Pro SP2, I am
no longer able to see the Storage Card (2 Gig MicroSD) using either Windows
Media Player 11.0.6000.6324 or Yahoo! Music Jukebox 2.0.2.042 from my
Desktop.

The Blackjack Storage Card **IS** visible from Windows Mobile Device
Center/Portable Devices/Blackjack/ and I can even drag and drop MP3s (which
don't have DRM) to the Blackjack. Then, I can listen to them on the
Blackjack once they are added to the library.

From the Blackjack using WMP 10 Mobile (10.3 Build 15100) I can still see
and play the 3 Yahoo Music Unlimited CDs (which are under DRM) on the
Storage Card that where put there when my Desktop was running XP Pro SP2.
Podcast MP3s also work fine.

Is this a known issue and is there a workaround and/or fix?

TIA

Followup:

The problem is definitely with Vista/Windows Mobile Device Center/WMP as I
hooked my Blackjack up to my laptop running XP Pro SP2 and all is well. I'm
able to see the storage card from both WMP 10 and Yahoo! Music Jukebox now.
Apparently, Microsoft has released an expensive upgrade (Vista Ultimate)
which isn't working with their own Windows Mobile 5 products and doesn't
seem to be supported.

I tried your suggestion; it did not work for me. I have been conversing with
Mirosoft for 2 weeks about this issue. They have no solution yet.

I experienced the same problem. Here's the solution I figured out...

# Close Windows Media Player
# Unplug your Windows Mobile Device
# Navigate to C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player
# Back up the contents of that folder
# Delete the contents of that folder
# Start Windows Media Player...it will scan your media library
# Plug your mobile device in, and Media Player will recognize it and any
storage cards installed in it.

You can see further details of this on my blog...

Tried this -- didn't work for me. Could see the device, but not the storage
card, in WMP11 on a Vista Ultimate laptop. Followed these directions, and
when I plugged in the device, it was redetected in WMP11, but not the
storage card.
