Active Directory simply wont work without DNS. Your clients use DNS to find
Domain Controllers amongst other things. The external DNS servers will have
no records for your domain so the clients will not be able to find internal
resources.

Don't forget the forwarders on your DNS Servers or you won't be able to
browse the Internet.
