Battery pinout for Dell Inspiron 600m

I have a Dell Inspirson 600 laptop that will not run on the power pack.
However it will run on a charged battery. I want to charge the battery
externally. Do anyone know where I can get the battery pinout. I can make a
charging station.
I have dis assembly the laptop top, removed the power input jack and check
for a short but could not find any. When I plug the power plug in it light
goes out. However owner was able to get their data out with a newly charged
battery.
The lowest price I see for a mother board is 300 dollars and I have see used
units for close to that price.

sometimes the charger will go bad and the board has to be replaced.

While you may think you can make an external charger, you should be
aware that there's a fine line between a LiIon charger and a bomb.

Unless you really know what you are doing (and your query means you
probably don't), I'd try another route (buy a used machine of the same
model, swap your hard drive into it, and sell the old one back to eBay
for parts).
