 Looking at buying a Averatec AV6130H1-10 Notebook ( AV6130H101 )
3.0GHz Pentium 4 w/ HT Technology - 512MB - 40GB - DVD/CDRW - Windows
XP - 15.4'' / 15.4 Inch TFT laptop.

It's listed has "missing ODD"
I have been building computers for quite a while and have never heard
of this term and i can't find any reference it either.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

IMO,you should choose any notebook other than an AVERATEC! Averatec is
nothing more than a marketing company with minimal customer, hardware,
or software support, in my view of this company.

I recommend you choose a used toshiba, HP, or even Dell notebook before
you even remotely consider an Averatec notebook.

While it may be a low end marketing unit, the others are no better.
All companies are there for the MONEY only.
I went to 1G of memory. After about 1 year, the dialup modem quit.
I sent it to California and got it back in about 2 weeks. It has worked
great
after that.. The dvd drive could be better.
I have read many post on this group, and it has no more trouble than the
others.
However you may be better of getting a more recognized brand.
This is my luck, hope yours is as good as or better..
