 Hello All!

In Audio DSP module, man page tells that the sampling rate parameter
is to be given in bytes/second. This implies that if I want to record
at 16000samples/second with 16 bit encoding, then the value of the
rate parameter be 32000 bytes/second.

When I convert a raw file recorded with the value of the rate
parameter at 32000 bytes/second, and convert it to riff format with
the sampling frequency of 16000 samples/second, the file is dragged
in time and played. But, when I play it with

play -r 32000 wav1.wav

it plays properly.

Am I making any mistake? Or, does Audio::DSP take the value in
samples/second?

Can anyone tell me or should I contact someone else? Kindly let me
know.

rate

Sampling rate in bytes per second. [...] Compact discs use a 44100 samples
per second sampling rate.

Default sample rate is 8192.

"Sampling rate in bytes per second" should be read "Sampling rate in samples
per second".
