I downloaded AV2009, thinking it was an upgrade to what I had. It is not
activated, but seems to be interacting with IE to block me from many .mil
sites. I have looked in the ctr p no sign of it in add/remove, no sign of an
AV folder in program files.

help!

Only download software you can validate as uncompromised - in the case
of non-vendor site you have no guarantee that the files are unmodified
or uncompromised. Anyone providing a link to a non-vendors site with a
direct download should not be trusted, the vendors sites are the safest
place to download their application.

No person of sound mind would download files from a hack site that
requires a password to access the unknown files when they are available
directly from the vendors.

Always remember - only download files from Trusted Sites.

Leythos - I've seen all your fights with pcButts et al.

Please explain why you didn't direct the original poster, VJS, to
cnet/Download.com, which is
advertised as *the* download site on the Malwarebytes web site
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Surely if the staff at Malwarebytes deem it satisfactory, that will be better
than going through a
third party? I agree that VJS should try the facility, but I'd recommend he go
here:-

You said yourself "Always remember - only download files from Trusted Sites"
Are you 100% certain that BleepingComputer.com can be trusted?
If so ......... just *how* do you know?

TIA

Dave

Simply seeking an honest answer to my question!

Why not send the OP directly to Malwarebytes.org?
