Hi people,

Wonder if anyone can help me out.

Currently have 2 sites, one for UK and one for US, they have similar
(but different domains, 1 has USA in it) but they did have the same
site code (they are blogs) The UK one seems to have dissapeard from
google! I have changed the USA one to a new design/code but it still
isn't showing the UK one since it has been re-indexed. Anyone know why
this would be? I know that you get penalised for having duplicate
sites, but the content of the site was different in the first place.

Any help would be great.

Doing cosmetic changes to the UK one isn't helpful as the actual
content is identical to the UK counterpart. The search engine has
determined which one is authentic.

I mean "too similar" instead of identical

Where is the UK one hosted? Does if have a .co.uk domain?

Are comments allowed? Do the blogs use nofollow

If so, search for a [unique string of text] in google-uk - 'search uk only',
and see if it shows.

If it does not show even under those terms, be thinking about a penalty.

If it does show, we can consider why it isn't showing *better*.
