Advice Needed: Best SONY CLIE w/KEYBOARD?

I'm about to get a PALM PILOT. I need one that:

1) Works on Mac
2) Has a backlit KEYBOARD (can type at night)
3) Stable, recent OS
4) Good quality (won't break or stop working mysteriously)
5) Will primarily be used for WORD documents
6) Long battery life
7) Has Wi-Fi
8) Will take memory expansion card

I looked at all the various Palm Pilots, and saw that the SONY CLIEs
seem to be pretty good... but there are so many of them.

They are out of production, so I will get one on eBay.

I figure since they stopped making them, I can now pick the best one
ever made and buy it on eBay.

However, I need your opinions and knowledge on which SONY CLIE to get.

#1 need is a backlit keyboard and of course stability/manufacturing
quality.

What is your advice? Would you also recommend anything else that synchs
with a Macintosh that isn't a SONY CLIE? (Palm Tungsten Cs don't have
backlit keyboards)

TIA!

I woudn't touch one. They are gone, it would be frustrating having an
out of production product.
I suggest a Palm with separate KB.
I have a Palm T-C. Great durable Palm.

I agree, my T-C has been 100% hardware reliable for two years; it goes
on all my trips.
I will admit to some problem finding an up to date browser; I'm about to
try a few I recently DL'd.

I use a 2 year old Tungsten C and here's a point-by-point:
> 1) Works on Mac
Yep (According to friend, it's seamless on Mac and even Linux machine)
> 2) Has a backlit KEYBOARD (can type at night)
Nope - can always do onscreen grafitti, though <frown>
> 3) Stable, recent OS
Yep in Spades
> 4) Good quality (won't break or stop working mysteriously)
Yep - 2 years flawless operation.
> 5) Will primarily be used for WORD documents
Comes with Dox-2-Go on install disk
> 6) Long battery life
Outstanding
> 7) Has Wi-Fi
Yep. Works well after OS upgrade from Palm (free)
> 8) Will take memory expansion card
Currently I have a 1Gb card in my T|C and 2x 512's in the case sleeve.

Many available on eBay - get one with original software disk and a hard
case.
