 I tried installing ActiveSync 4.1 on my Dell laptop with Windows XP.
I get Message:
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified
installation log location exists and is writable."

I have administrator rights on the laptop.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Could you try the steps to change TEMP Environment Variable under

I removed the ActiveSync.log in my TEMP dir and ran installation again
- This time it worked. (Thje log was there from previous installation
of 4.0.
