 Hello,

I have a pocket PC running on Windows Mobile 6. I have installed
ActiveSync and MS Outlook on my PC, and I connected my PDA on the PC.
I asked active sync to synchronize calendar and contacts, so that I
can get my contacts on my PC too. The calendar was properly updated on
the PC but all my contacts on my PDA have been deleted !! I'm
desperate. Does anybody know if there is a way to recover them ?

 If you still haven't powered down your mobile (which means the databasses
being flush back to the Flash ROM - see my related articles if interested),
you can soft reset your device at once, as soon as possible. That way, you
may have luck.

Otherwise, you won't and in no way can restore your old contacts.

Check in the deleted items in Outlook to see if they are there.

it happened to me as well..i'm feeling sick!
where can i find step by step instructions on how contacts sync? i have
searched everywere with no luck. when i make a change to contacts (on my ppc)
and then sync with outlook 2003 outlook deletes the change. of what possible
use is this? i can't make changes on my ppc? i find this hard to believe.
when i right clik contact in active sync the setting box is greyed out. how
do stop outlook from dumping my contacts?

Hi,
I do not know the cause of the problem you described. Basically if you
delete a contact on the desktop and then sync it will delete it on the
device before it trys and update it.
