Activesync won't open on my Acer Notebook with MSWorks & Outlook Express but
no Outlook or Office.
How can I correct problem

Hi Petros,

If you are saying that you would like to synchronize your device with
MSWorks/ Outlook Express using ActiveSync, then it is not possible. You will
need MS Outlook on your PC to be able to synchronize PIM information. If you
are referring to some other issue, please provide further details.

Using Outlook is not necessary.  I have an XP machine and synch my
contacts, calendar, tasks and notes to Thunderbird/Lightning using
BirdieSync and ActiveSync.  I have an ATT Tilt running WM 6.1.  It was
not a painless setup but certainly doable.  The Notes are not part of
Thunderbird, but separate .txt files.  A little kludgy, but ok.

You should be able to connect it to Activesync to transfer files, but not
for the synching of any Contacts, Calendar or Tasks info.

What problem are you having specifically?  Is Activesync refusing to open?
Is your device not recognized when you plug in it?  (No USB connection
chime?)
