Activesync 4.1 - can't sync over air AND via USB TheCleaner 02-04-2006

I have a new cingular 2125.

I went through the CD and installed Activesync 4.1 and setup my sync
relationship with my exchange server.

It works fine if I'm connected to the USB.

If I then disconnect via USB and try to sync over cingular's network it
times out saying "waiting for network".

What's strange is that if I uninstall AS4.1 from my PC and then delete all
the AS settings on my phone, and then set it up on my phone only (server
settings etc) it syncs fine over the air.

But then if I install AS4.1 again on my PC and connect the phone to the PC
it only works again through USB only.

Another clue, if I setup the relationship as guest only, then I can still
sync over the air, but if I connect to the PC as a guest relationship, and
then look at activesync on the phone itself it says "waiting for network".

My only guess is that maybe it's just not possible to have it:

1. Connected to the PC and sync via exchange server (through the USB port)

and then

2. Disconnect from the PC and sync over the air

It would seem this is the way it should work, but maybe not.

any help?

I just bought a new cingular 2125 today and it does scheduled syncs fine
with Exchange 2003 SP2.

My issue is that I can't get Active Sync to see the device. I have tried on
two different systems now, nothing...

Still trying to figure out the AUDT push settings too.

Sorry I can't help you.

Mike

I posted about the same issue (i think) earlier tonight. Same symtoms (i
didn't think about the sync to the exchange server over the air which I have
set up as well). Check out:

Guys,

I originally posted this and didn't have my "non-spam" alias for my support
contract enabled. So hopefully someone will from MS will either respond to
this one, or to my new post here:
