ActiveSync not working as it should.... Mattias Pettersson 01-12-2007

Hello!

We've been ripping our hair out lately trying to figure out why some ppl can
sync "over the air" and others can't. Late, the other night, when I couldn't
sleep I started pondering the problem and figured I'd try something... and
it worked.. problem is how to solve it in a more "effective" manner.

Here's the thing:
When our "admins" initially creates an account they set a six character
username to every account, normally based on the three first chars in the
first name and three characters from the sirname, so in my case that would
be matpet. However, since we're a big company with a lot of small companies
inside it we use different domains. So my account marpet@domain.tld isn't
actually used - instead my "Primary SMTP"-address is
mattias.pettersson@otherdomain.tld.

ActiveSync works fine as long as my Primary SMTP-adress is
marpet@domain.tld - if we change it to my actual address it stops working.

I know I've read something about this issue somewhere on the net - but I
can't remember where.. so if someone can point me towards the solution or
give me hints on as how to solve this it would be greatly appreciated..

Regards,

Mattias
