ActiveSync no longer stays connected Charles Evans 01-17-2008

Hello,

After removing ISA server and installing a new hardward firewall at work (as
well as changing our Exchange server from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.2) the
active sync on our mobile devices no longer stay connected. When performing
a manual sync the devices will sync all data successfully, set the status to
connected and then immediately sync again and set the status to the
date/time of the last sync. New emails get through to the device
immediately but seem to happen on a polling basis rather than when the mail
enters the mail box.

On the W2003 server we are getting errors in the event log everytime the
devices sync:

Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [server.domain.local]
User: [user@domain.com] HTTP status code: [400]. Verify that the Exchange
mailbox Server is working correctly.

I have also seen 501 error messages in the event log but they don't seem to
be happening today. There are no outgoing rules on the new firewall and the
incoming rules route all 80 and 443 ports to the correct website on the
Exchange box. I have looked through the firewall log and cannot find any
deny entries that are stopping communication in or out of the Exchange box.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Charles

Fixed this. If you do not have "All Unassigned" selected for the IP address
of the default website you will need to add entries for the NETBIOS name as
host headers for the site.
