Please log in for more thread options The reason always given for this (keeping things running, despite you
clicking on the X button), is responsiveness. The next time you choose
Calendar from the Start menu, if Calendar was previously running, it pops up
very quickly. I think it was a mistake to use the same X button to mean
something different on Windows Mobile compared to the desktop, but I suppose
it's too late now. Often, when there's a good reason to exit the program
(it's a GPS mapping program that chews up lots of memory or whatever), there
will be an Exit item on the menu. Since the operating system can force an
application to exit, if memory gets low, you usually don't have to worry
about that extra copy of ActiveSync sitting in the background. I never
close it myself.
