Is there any way to set ActiveSync so that it only Synchronises when I press
a button to tell it to do so?

I find it very annoying the way it just starts up on its own when it feels
like it.

a) It means I often have to wait before I can safely disconnect the phone
from the PC.
b) It slows my PC down.
c) It slows my phone down if I try to use it while its connected to the PC.

Hi,
ActiveSync and your Windows Mobile device are setup so that when you plug it
in, it syncs. This is by design. there is no option to go back to the
button press option such as the Palm OS supports.

Another alternative is to use an application like Killsync from
www.pocketpcfaq.com/applications to stop ActiveSync and then reload it when
you want to sync.

Chris,

I just looked at the FAQ for Activesync 4.0_ on your website. (I
couldn't find anything for 4.5.) I noticed that the Options window
has tabs for document conversion. But on my AS 4.5 install, I have
option tabs only for Options and Security. Did I do a bad install of
4.5 or has AS changed from 4.0 to 4.5?

PS: It seemed to me that the Applications items all go back to 2001
or earlier. Can these work on a WM 6 system? E.g. the registry
hacks?
