I doubt that newsgroup traffic has much to do with fix speed. These aren't
moderated newsgroups...
We'd need to know what version, specifically, you have of the Intel driver
and whether you are using the Intel software when you configure your
wireless connection or just the standard Microsoft software. That is, do
you set the Pre-Shared Key in an Intel program or in the Microsoft Windows
Zero Config dialog (you can post a screen shot, if you're not sure). We
also need to know if you are running any a) anti-virus software, b) virtual
private networking software, c) firewall software or, d) any third-party
network managers (which might do anything from showing activity in a way
different from standard Windows to filtering some Web sites).
Once I have the information, I'll forward it to the AS group. It would also
be useful to verify that there's still a problem with AS4.2 beta, which you
can download from www.microsoft.com/mobile (I do *not* expect this to fix
it), and to send a bug report, after you do that to astell @ microsoft.com.
