Is there a way to configure more than one connection for active sync with
exchange.

I.e. I would like to sync over the evdo connection whenever out of office
and use a wi-fi connection in the office.

Thanks,
Rich Hall

Activesync uses whatever connection is specified in the top box ("Programs
connect to the Internet using...") in
Settings/Connections(Tab)/Connections/Advanced(Tab)/Select Networks.

Unless that "network's" settings are oddball (a cellular connection that
uses a proxy server, for example), WiFi will automatically override it, so
it should already do what you're asking- use a known WiFi access point if
available, then fallback to the connection in that box (most likely your
cellular provider's data settings) if WiFi isn't available.

Keep in mind that "push" notifications (if AS is set up to sync items "as
they arrive") only work over cellular- so Activesync will still use a little
cellular data to initiate an automatic sync, but the actual sync data
transfer should be over WiFi.

Thanks Todd.

If this works like you said, that would be awesome.

I had one thought though....

In the office, my exchange ip address will be local, but it's a public
address outside the office. That could create some issues.

That' might actually create HUGE issues if it doesn't resolve the address
properly. You can probably test it by trying to hit OMA or OWA from the
phone while on WiFi. If you can do OWA, you should be able to do EAS.
