Even after reinstalling 4.2 I get the following error: "This version of
Microsoft ActiveSync is not compatible with the connected mobile device.
Please upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft ActiveSync and reconnect"

Hi Darren,

I just received a confirmation from Warren via e-mail that the steps
outlined helped resolve his issue. Could you confirm which version of
ActiveSync you are using and the OS of the mobile device.

The problem is your Outlook and the new Active Sync.
Back up your Outlook, uninstall and re-install. Do not repair, do a
brand new Outlook Installation.and then sync... it is better to sync
one option at a time..contacts first and so on and then you 'll be set
