Before changing the battery in my HP IPAQ rz1710 I made another complete backup,
for the backups I chose my own dir and gave it an own name ?????????.stg . After
changing the battery syncing the contacts etc worked fine but I could not yet
find any way to choose the backup file from which to restore the system. How can
I steer to the backup and restore from it? I think I had that problem already
several years ago but cannot remember the solution.
Thanks for any input.
Viktor

I have found out now that I should connect as guest and that connections can
only be deleted when the PocketPC is not attached to the USB-cable. I deleted
all partnerships and connected as guest, which worked not. When attempting to
restore I now could choose the backup file. But suprise, now the Active Sync
refuses to restore from the backup file and states that this backup has been
done with another device and cannot be restored. I also tried with last week´s
complete backup and got the same error message. All the backups have been done
from this pocket pc, there is no other one in our household. How can I get the
backup back into the PDA?
