I don't know if that model has problems or not. But unless you want to
fix it yourself, I'd send it back if it isn't too late. As a minimum, it
costs about $100 to repair the jack soldered on the motherboard out of
warrantee at most shops. Some places will tell you that you need a new
motherboard which is like $600 plus. And I bet it should work fine once
it is repaired.
And most laptops and don't have to remove the battery and unplug the AC
if the laptop hangs. Just press and hold the power button for 5 seconds
and so and it forces the laptop to turn off. They used to have reset
buttons, but that was used in the 80's and up to the mid 90's. Hope this
