Greeting to you all.

This may be easy for you, but not me.

I have this map with county boundaries and shapes and when I run the
cursor over it, I can see the X, Y coordinates increasing as I go North
and East.

I would like to have a spreadsheet (EXCEL or ACCESS) that has name X,
Y, cordinates for each. Something like:

County Xcord Ycord
AAA 2.5211 3.6447
BBB 5.2147 8.0008
Et cetera

Now my question is: How do I get this information?

Please help me. Am a novice when it comes to GIS and I need to do this
urgenty. My boss needs the information.

Omugeye

Go to ESRI's web site, Support, Downloads and enter the search string
"addxy" with ArcView GIS as the product. It will find the Add XY Extension.
Quoting from the download site: "

This extension will add the X and Y values of points or polygon centroids to
the attribute table of an ArcView shapefile or ArcInfo coverage. It is
analagous to the ArcInfo command "addxy."

Hope this helps . . .
