I am a relatively new user of a PPC-6700 using ActiveSync 4.1. When my
device is in its cradle and hooked up to ActiveSync, I can't access the
internet: I get a "Cannot Connect" balloon when I try. Is this behavior
normal? Should I be doing something different to enable access in this
state?

You should be able to connect - are you running any firewall software,
and what are you trying to access and from where (ie www.microsoft.com
in IE Mobile)

The only firewall s/w I and running is that which was installed with
WinXP SP2. I am on a network behind a router that does NAT, but
obviously am hardly unique in that regard.

The problem occurs when accessing www.microsoft.com as well as all
other websites.

Hi,
In Activesync 4.1 on the desktop, File - Connection Settings does the
connection go to The Internet? If it is set to work then you won't be able
to access websites.

Connection settings had been set to Automatic. I changed it to Internet
and that worked. Thanks.

BTW-- what does Automatic do?
