Hi,
2. attempt with more information to my problem posted on 01/11/08.
The environment is as follows:
1 Exchange Organisation with 2 Servers. Server1 is in routinggroup A, server2 in
routinggroup B.
Each Server in its routinggroup is accessible for OWA/OMA/ActiveSync through a
local firewall.
In routinggroup B everything works fine: when I configure the PDA to connect to
the local firewall to sync with a mailbox on server
2 (including ActiveSync with Allways-up-to-Date-function).
When I configure a PDA to connect to the firewall in routinggroup A each mailbox
on Server 1 is accessible using ActiveSync, but
AUTD doesn't work and no data is downloaded during the sync.
First idea was an error in IIS on Server1 in routinggroup A. But as activesync
(massnyc.dll) is working with frontend-functionality,
i configured the PDA with mailbox on server2 to connect to the firewall in
routinggroup A, which forwards the request to Server1,
which forwards to Server 2 in routinggroup B. And it works!
On the other hand, from a PDA with mailbox on server1 when using firewall 2
(which forwards the request to server 2 in routinggroup
B, which forwards to server 1 in routinggroup A) I get the same situation:
connectivity is established, amount of items are shown
during syncattempt, but no data is downloaded.
So IMHO it can not be a firewall-issue (I've got the same result using internal
WLAN in Routinggroup A to connect the PDA to the
internal IP of server 1) or an IIS-issue (the logfiles of both IIS are showing
no errors).
The mentioned phenomenon is not limited to a special PDA but every PDA! Server 1
stopped AUTD-Function about a week ago. No patch or
software was installed during this period and the server has been rebooted
several times.
Any help is really appreciated
Ulli
