I don't know how wise this solution is, but it worked for me.

I was having trouble getting my PPC6700 to sync. Every time I had to delete
the device and let it totally re-sync, and even that didn't work sometime.
SO this is what I did.

Open McAffee and select Personal Firewall
MS has some instructions on what ports and programs to make sure are
allowed...do that first. Here is the link.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx
Then select the Options icon and then System Services

In addition to the ones you have added scroll to the bottom and add the
Windows File Sharing - Ports 137-139 to the list.

I haven't had a problem since. Although, who knows what else I just let
in...time to check the firewall settings on my router!

Hi,
As a precaution, I would suggest limiting the ports to your local subnet and
the IP address of the Pocket PC (169.254.2.1 and 169.254.2.2 with a subnet
of 255.255.255.0).

Also, I would make sure you are current on all your patches. The ports you
opened are for WINS/Netbios connections.
