AS syncing to servername or ip address? nikj_dk 01-31-2008

I sync my PPC to Exchange on SBS2003. When I install my PPC, I use a dock
connected to my ws connected to the local network/intranet. I set up
parameters, and write the servername, and the PPC syncronizes with Exchange.

To syncronize via internet, I have to change the servername to the ip
address of the SBS2003, because the FQD has a different ip address from the
SBS2003 server.

That means, when I put the PPC in its dock, it cannot syncronize, but when
it is out of the dock, it works fine.

Is there a way to make the PPC choose one of two possebilities, either the
servername, or the ip address?

Regards.

Hi,
The problem is that the host to IP address is cached in the PPC until a soft
reset is performed.

If you allow the PPC to access the internet via the PC then you can sync.
Or you can allow the PPC to connect to the internet via wireless while it is
in the doc.
