hello all,

i came to know that AMDs 64 bit processor is does poorly in the area of heat
dissipation.

i am planning to buy a laptop with AMD processor and this info is really
bothering me.

perhaps first hand users can help me out in making the decision.

Thanks in advance,

Hmmm ... I think you mean it does very WELL, which is what you don't
want (in the sense that you don't want it to HAVE to do well, which it
does).

It's very subjective in some ways - but why are you planning on buying a
machine that you don't like the characteristics of?

The mobile AMDs are much lower dissipation nowadays, and you can step
them up or down, but check the product specs for yourself on AMD's
site (and tell us what you see). Be careful to find out the exact cpu
model.
