ACRONIS VS GHOST???????? Joseph Fenn 12-18-2007

 I must be a dam fool of one kind or another. I've always used Ghost
since way back when it was Share Ware but not that Symantec has taken
over it has become a beast. V9 was very good but I did'nt know
about the validation thing, and it did'nt warn me that it would die on me
by certain time length. It did great job till it just died. So I went
for Ghost V12 and had Comp/usa install and validate it for me. They
had to increase the ram chip to 525 k I think so it all cost me about
$150 to get it done. V12 is a beast. The clik bars are not labelled
so by trying all three of em I managed to set the cource Drive as
C:xppro and the destination for the image G: (1 touch 200 Gig usb2)
drive. Then I clicked on backup my hard drive now. I have tried every
thing except throw it in the garbage but that will be my next step.
Can anyone tell me why V12 is such a piece of crap. I bought ACRONIS
before and copied the 8 floppies ok, but when I tried to validate it.
I entered the codes and thought that was it. Later received msg
from ACRONIC via email that there was more required as they dont
accept validation anymore via email. So I threw that one away too.
any assistande would be appreciated as I am not only dumbo but getting
poorer every day that passes!!!!

Oh Joe! Haven't you heard? Nothing matters anymore but the bottom line.
That means replacing American workers with those working for almost for
nothing workers in the Far East. And the quality just isn't the same.
Even in the Far East and you pay them like crap, you get crap back. But
damn the bottom line looks great, eh?

Try to find a copy of Ghost 2003. It runs in dos, boots from a single
floppy or cd. I do images and clones with it all the time and it works
great.

Second that. 2003 was the last version that worked for me.
acronis trueimage 7 also works, that's the one they gave away a while back.
No idea what works for vista.
