How about every time there is a channel change with media center it sends out
a sky on ir pulse (the sky button on the sky remote), then waits a second
before sending out the 3 ir pulses for a channel change. The sky pulse only
turns the box on and does not turn it off. Handy when the box has had an
update or a power outage and is in standby mode.

This may help with the problem of when the 3 ir pulses are sent out the sky
box does not understand the 1st pulse sometimes as it is shorter - probably
due to the media center firing up hard drive heads to begin recording. I
have adjusted the pulse duration in the registry and it still happens 1 out
of 8 times.

This also affects Vista mediacenter.

Cheers

Shaggy

I don't know what Sky is, because I'm not from the UK, so this'll be a shot
in the dark, basically.

I assume Sky provides digital TV. I assume digital TV is provides via a DVB
signal. Also, most digital TV systems use a smartcard. Now I can safely
advice you to buy an appropriate DVB card. Transfer the encryption key from
the smartcard to the decoder of your DVB card (or get a smartcard reader in
your PC).

In THEORY, this should all work nicely in MCE, without having to use yet
another box ;)
