These posts and the responses are confusing as hell because you can't always
tell how people are attempting to sync and their Exchange config.
I have my 85010014 error fixed, mostly.
There are sufficient posts now that if you read all of them you can get the
config info you need for Exchange and ISA 2004. Pay close attention to how
they describe their Exchange environment. I.E. SBS, FE/BE, or Single Server.
Certificates, FBA, Virtual Server Authentication, and registry hacks all
were issues for me.
I had been attempting to configure a single Exchange Server w/ ISA for
Direct Push sync. During my testing I was using AS 4.1 and the cradle to
test. After many hours I got the 85010014 error cleared up and was syncing
to the server with AS 4.1 pointing to the FQDN. I uncradled and tried to
sync over the air and again got the 85010014.
I finally hard reset the pda and configured the AS settings on the PDA
pointing to the same FQDN. It worked and continued to work great. I hard
reset again and configured AS on the PDA. it worked again. It seems
starting out in the cradle really hosed me.
I hard reset again to set the thing up for the new user. I configured using
the PDA AS and got an 85010014 error. I intentionally typed the password
wrong and got a response asking me to fix the password. I stepped back a
couple screens and changed the username to a third users name and password.
I stepped through the screens and was prompted to accept the policies from
the Exchange server and the setup completed.
I hard reset and configured AS on the PDA for a fourth account and it worked
fine.
What is is about one users mailbox that prohibits the sync from completing???
I obviously have my config correct if it will work for three different users.
This user has a fair amount of mail in the inbox so I selected only the
calendar for sync and it still fails. I confirmed his AD account allows the
Mobile Access.
Anyone seen this????
