I am trying to help a website owner increase his search engine
rankings. His website is mainly composed of 4 types of products. For
one of them, it is just linked to another website, which he also owns.
The products are related. Would it be better to have all the products
under one domain name?
Thanks,
Peter

I think you can benefit more from having separate domains, with each
page having keyword rich product descriptions and linking to the other
domains.

Thanks, Red. Would it be better to have several links going back and
forth, to specific pages, or just one main link?

I think in most cases that linking to the main page is best, unless
there is a compelling reason for deeper links. If you're doing one
product per domain then getting someone to the main page of a particular
domain is what is most important to making a sale and also won't dilute
the power of your links.

Thanks, Red. Each domain is actually a category of products, with
several subcategories. But I still think you are right about linking
to the main page.
Thanks for all your help!
