Hello folks:
I have a "Conexant Falcon Video Capture" tuner (NTSC). I currently
record with the "Best" quality setting. I am happy with it, and when I watch
it on my TV, connected through a S-VGA cable, it looks just like regular TV.

I was wondering if I can reduce the Quality setting, without loosing
quality for watching it on a regular NTSC TV? What I mean is, I have no idea
what the actual Quality settings change and how much HD space I would save.

Also, I like to watch live sport events, like motor racing\soccer etc. Is
there a way to record using a "Start Time" to "End Time" kinda apporach? The
reason for this is righ now I can only record based on EPG or whichever
channel I am watching and then it just stops, and if the game\race goes extra
time I miss the end.

Regards and thanks

LiveTV runs at Best quality setting. You can change the recording quality
for individual shows without affecting the LiveTV quality. Yes you will gain
HD space; I don't remember the exact numbers, but it seems that is is
between 2 and 3 times as much recording time going from Best to Worst
quality.

Yes, you can create a manual recording. I'm not in front of the MCE PC at
the moment, but basically on the main TV menu, choose recording, then choose
manual. You set the start and stop time, channel, quality, etc. just like a
VCR.
