You are right that currently the vast majority of computer LCD displays are
16:10. However in MCE 2005 I have not noticed this problem, with a 16:9
programme it correctly plays with a thin black border top and bottom, with a
4:3 programme it expands to the full height (no black border top and bottom)
and correctly uses black borders on the left and right. I have not had to
make any adjustments.
For your information, manufacturers of computer LCD panels are beginning to
switch to 16:9, this will also apply to laptops.
